AuSnap! was created to put therapy knowledge directly into the hands of parents — the people who know their children best. By organizing evidence-based approaches like ABA, DIR/Floortime, TEACCH, RDI, and sensory integration into clear, actionable guidance, AuSnap! helps families turn everyday moments into powerful opportunities for growth, connection, and learning.

Parents are the experts on their own children.
My name is Susan Vargas, and I am the mother of an autistic daughter who has taught me more about patience, communication, resilience, and unconditional love than I ever imagined possible.
Like many parents, I entered the world of autism carrying questions, fears, and a desire to do right by my child. Along the way, I discovered something that isn't talked about nearly enough: while therapists, teachers, and specialists provide invaluable support, parents are often the people spending the most time with their children. We witness the victories, the setbacks, the sensory overload, the breakthroughs, and the everyday moments that no therapy session can fully capture.
I believe parents are the experts on their own children.
My mission is to help families feel empowered to take an active role in their child's growth and development. Teaching life skills, communication, emotional regulation, flexibility, and independence shouldn't exist only within the walls of a therapy clinic. These skills are practiced during bedtime routines, grocery store trips, family dinners, car rides, playtime, and countless ordinary moments throughout the day.
I want parents to feel confident learning and applying evidence-based strategies in ways that fit naturally into their family's lives. My goal is not to replace therapists or educators, but to bridge the gap between professional support and everyday life so that children have opportunities to learn and grow throughout their entire day — not just during scheduled appointments.
By no means am I advocating for less therapy. I am advocating for transferring knowledge, skills, and confidence to the people who love the child most and will remain in that child's life long after any therapist, teacher, or service provider has moved on. When parents are empowered with effective tools and understanding, children benefit from consistent support across every environment they encounter.
As a working mother, I understand the challenges of balancing responsibilities while trying to support a child with unique needs. I also understand the immense joy that comes from watching a child gain a new skill, overcome a challenge, or discover a new level of independence.
I believe that with the right tools, guidance, and support, parents can become some of the most effective teachers and advocates their children will ever have.
Because while professionals may work with our children for a few hours a day, for a few days each week, we are the ones walking beside them every day.
And that's where some of the most meaningful learning happens.
